Central
c.n.c. Machinery Ltd., formerly Central Woodworking Machinery Co.
Ltd., was founded in 1962, and originally suppplied a wide range of
new and second hand traditional woodworking machinery.
In
1994, Central introduced the Elu CNC860 c.n.c. Router to their
range, and sold a large number of these entry level c.n.c. machines
for many different applications. Central continue to service and
support this machine, which is no longer in production.
Following
the success of the Elu machine, Central began importing a range of
larger, flat bed c.n.c. routers, and began production of their own
range of heavy duty c.n.c. routers in 1999.
Today,
the Elu machine has evolved into the Trend CNC
SMART Lite and CNC SMART Plus
machines, which Central continue to supply, and Central are now the
UK agent for the Victor
range of c.n.c. Routers, offering a wide range of models and
exceptional value for money. Although the company name has
changed to reflect the nature of the business, Central still supply a
wide range of tooling and accessories for both c.n.c. routers and
traditional woodworking machines, as well as new woodworking machinery.
Still
a family business, Stuart Merewood, managing director of Central
c.n.c. Machinery Ltd., is the son of Jack Merewood, the founder of
Central Woodworking Machinery Co. Ltd..
In
2004, Central moved into new premises, with a modern, pupose-built
demonstration area for c.n.c. routers and Delcam software. |
